Streszczenia

This article reviews data on the sources of bacterialzoonotic agents in EU member states in year 2015.In December 2016, the European Food SafetyAuthority (EFSA), and the European Centre for DiseasePrevention and Control (ECDC), published the yearlyreport for 2015, on the sources of zoonoses andzoonotic agents in EU. Campylobacteriosis remainedthe most frequently reported zoonotic disease inhumans, with 229,213 laboratory confirmed clinicalcases (including 653 in Poland), which means 3.2%decrease when compared to data from 2014. Poultrymeat was the most important source of Campylobacterspp. Salmonellosis was the second most commonlyrecorded zoonosis with 94,625 confirmed humancases (8,245 in Poland), which means 6.7% increasewhen compared to the previous report. Salmonella spp.was present in fresh poultry meat and products thereoffollowed by fresh pig meat. There were 7,202 casesof human yersiniosis (172 cases in Poland), whichmeans 8.7% increase in comparison with 2014 report.A total of 5,901 confirmed VTEC infections (none inPoland), were identified in EU member states. Thefrequency of listeriosis in humans increased by 2.1% ascompared to 2014, with 2,206 confirmed cases (70 inPoland), of which 270 were fatal. L.monocytogeneswas detected above the legal safety limit (100 cfu/g),in fish and fish products, primarily (6.5%). In otherready-to-eat foods, of bovine meat, pork and chickenmeat, 0,5%, 1,2%, and 2,2% samples respectively,had the number of L.monocytogenes above the limit.The Q fever and brucellosis cases in humans were833 and 437 respectively. The number of of Francisellatularensis and Mycobacterium bovis human infectionswere of 1079 and 170, respectively. Data on zoonoticdiseases from the EFSA/ECDC 2015 Report wereevaluated in this article.
